10 modules with 2 different azimuths and 2 different tilts are combined in one system. The different azimuths and tilts result in a different peak power and power output per module during the day. Femtogrid maximizes the total solar energy generated using only 1 inverter instead of 2 or 3 small string inverters, which would have been used otherwise with a traditional string solution.

172 modules are being maximized with Femtogrid. For this location partial shading – generated by a streetlight – played an important role, as the shading ‘moves’ over the modules during the day. Femtogrid limits the influence of partial shading and maximizes the total solar energy for this system.

26 modules are being maximized with Femtogrid. Here, a tall chimney generates shading on the modules. This shading ‘moves’ over the modules during the day. As a result, some modules will face limited output power during the day. Femtogrid limits the influence of partial shading and maximizes the total solar energy generated for this system.
