Femtogrid started off in june 2010 with two people: Rob Schaacke and Tom Engbers. Rob Schaacke, the founding father of FemtoGRID, has worked basically his whole life for the electronics engineering company Betronic Solutions. He played an import role as hardware engineer, project manager, technical manager and latest as Chief Technical Officer before he founded Femtogrid. Rob holds, as Chief Technical Officer, within Femtogrid the responsibility for Research & Development, Project Management, Quality and (outsourced) Production. Rob’s goal is to achieve the best sustainable energy networked products.

Tom Engbers, has a background in legal, sales & marketing and general management before he joint Betronic as Chief Executive Officer in 2007. Caught by the "sustainable energy virus" the opportunity for creating and building a new company in this market segment has been his motivation towards success. As Chief Executive Officer of Femtogrid, Tom is responsible for General Management, Financing, Marketing & Sales and the commercial Product Road Map. Tom’s aims to materialize the best price/performance ratio for all Femtogrid’s products.

The Femtogrid team is gradually growing and nowadays offers place to 9 people. Besides Rob and Tom, 7 new hires entered the stage to strengthen the team. These 7 new hires all brought in their own specific knowledge and skills applicable for the cleantech energy sector.
